Smith and Vandiver is also a proud member of The Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program, a program which verifies that businesses meet higher standards of environmental performance. In 2007, we added NOP Certified Organic Product Development and manufacturing facilities to our list of capabilities to our FDA-OTC certification. In 2008, we became the first OASIS certified manufacturer.

What is Organic? Organic is an agricultural term describing produce grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms, or ionizing radiation. The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) certification was developed to create a firm definition and verifiable food standards so consumers can understand the validity of organic claims. OASIS (Organic and Sustainable Industry Standard) is the first U.S. organic standard for health and beauty consumer goods, understanding that there are certain sustainable processes that can turn organic produce into functional skin care products. As an OASIS Certified product, we use NOP certified organic raw materials and manufacture in our NOP Certified facility.
